Printing-apparatus combined with apparatus for checking fares.-Ticket-printing devices of the kind described in Specification 16,940/10 are fitted with cutting or punching devices operated by the movement of the ticket slide, and also with improved means for actuating the spring frame in which the printing-devices are mounted. The cutting or punching device a, Fig. 3, is pivoted to the ticket slide b, and is of #-section. In the outward position of the slide b, the .knife a is raised above the ticket slot g, but when the slide is pushed in, an abutment acts on a nose i on an arm d integral with the knife a, and the knife is moved to the position shown in Fig. 3, into a recess c in the slide b, thereby cutting out a portion of the ticket. On the return of slide b, roller k on the shaft l of the printing-rollers acts on the arm d to return the knife to normal position. The printing-frame m is fitted on each side with a sloping abutment o forming extensions of the frame, and the lifting-fingers n slide under these, the frame m descending under spring action when the fingers n slide past the rear ends of these abutments.
