Abstract

518,739. Snap - action switches. ERSING, M., and WOERNER, A., [trading as KAUTT & BUX]. Aug. 30, 1938, No. 25417. Convention date, Sept. 29, 1937. [Class 38 (v)] A push-button switch of the type in which the operation of the button i serves alternately to open and close the switch, has a link member actuated by the push button for reversing the position of a pivotable member controlling the moving contacts, the link member being substantially U-shaped and extending on the one hand through a control slot formed in the pivotable member and on the other hand embracing with its free arms a transverse web formed by notches in the shaft of the push button, the said arms being adapted to press towards each other and thus against the said web. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the switch comprises a pivoted member f having a control slot o linked wtih the web x of the button i and fitted with pivots g about which turn spring-containing housing d and contacts b that move over the divided conductor lining (not shown) of the housing a. Upon depressing the button, Fig. 1, the link bears on the edge 2 and rotates the member f to the right. The button returns due to the spring h and when again depressed bears on the edge 1 and rotates member f to the left. A notch p in the web x holds the link m in its central position. The pin q limits the displacement of the switch The switch may be fitted with an indicating device, Fig. 7, comprising a pointer t and an indicating plate u operated by the spindle e.
