Abstract
543,126. Resonant circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and LEA, N. Aug. 8, 1940, No. 12755. [Class 40 (iii)] In a tuned circuit comprising a tapped inductance L and a condenser C, the variation of frequency at different temperatures is corrected by means of a condenser C 1 or inductance in parallel or series with the main condenser C, and a second condenser C 2 or inductance in parallel with a part of the inductance L remote from the sliding contact. The temperature co-efficient consists of a constant term plus a variable term which is introduced by the " overhanging " part of the inductance beyond the sliding contact, and the two condensers C 1 , C 2 or inductances compensate respectively for the two components, as indicated by curves 1, 2, 3. Condensers may be employed which are adjustable as regards their capacities at any given temperature or as regards their temperature co-efficients or in both respects, and preferably they have small capacities and high temperature co-efficients. Several re-actances may be connected to different tapping points for compensating for the variable component.
