Abstract

539,004. Conveyers. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH) Ltd. April 29, 1940, No. 7619. [Class 78 (i)] Relates'to apparatus in which articles 11 such as loaves of bread are delivered contiguously from a slicing or other apparatus 14 to a pusher-type conveyer 18 which moves them over a suppoiting plate 17 to a wrapping or other apparatus. A delivery plate 16 over which the articles pass to the conveyer is arranged to rock about an axis 21 upon delivery of each article to the supporting plate 17, to allow a pusher bar 19 of the conveyer to move into engagement with the rear face of the article, the forward edge of the plate 16 being maintained in the elevated position until the pusher bar is clear of the path of the forward edge of the succeeding article. As shown, the rocking of the plate 16 is effected by the pusher bars 19 and the forward edge of the plate is provided with a pair of members 20 having upwardly bent extensions 22 to allow the pusher bar to maintain the plate in its elevated position after the bar has moved beyond the edge of the plate. The sides of the articles are engaged by spring- supported guide plates 23 and resilient guides 32.
