[Class 25] [Also in Group XXVIII] A refractory lining for a pipe or chamber for the reception of hot gases is composed of rings which seat one on another. In the pipe bend shown in the Figure, each ring 1,1 is concave at one end and convex at . the other. Before assembling the rings the bend is lined with cement and after assembly additional cement is introduced into the spaces between the rings.
