Abstract

719,339. Pipe couplings. GULLICK, Ltd., and SEAMAN, T. March 20, 1953 [April 29, 1952], No. 10732/52. Class 99 (1). In a pipe coupling in which an annular projection 18 on a coupling member 10 engages a gasket 13 in an annular recess 12 of the coupling member 11, an annular channel 20 is provided behind the gasket communicating through radial passages 21 with the interior of the coupling to admit fluid under'pressure to the gasket. Curved links 15, which are pivoted to lugs 14 on the member 11, carry pivoted cams which are adapted to engage a curved annular recess in a collar 19 on the member 10. The cams are operated by tommy bars engaging holes 17.
