Abstract
681,871. Securing valve seats. DANGO, B., and DIENENTHAL, H., (trading as DANGO & DIENENTHAL KOMMANDITGES.). Nov. 21, 1950 [Dec. 30, 1948], No. 28447/50. Class 135. In a slide valve for hot air or gas or like conduits having a one-part casing 1, into which valve seat or cooling rings 3 are introduced laterally, each cooling ring is secured in position on the inside by a flange 4 or stops on the valve casing and on the outside by an inner cylindrical ring 7 and an outer profiled ring 8, which has a collar or flange 9 engaging a groove 10 in the valve casing and is divided into a number of arcuate parts to facilitate insertion within the valve casing. Fig. 2 shows the ring 8 formed in three parts, the part 1 which is inserted last being so formed in relation to the adjacent ends of the other two parts that it can be easily swung into position. It is then secured by a plate 13 welded over the joint 12. In another arrangement, the joints are in parallel planes. The rings 7 press flanges 5 on the rings 3 against the flanges 4 in the casing. The rings 3 and the hollow valve disc 2 are water-cooled. The left-hand side of Fig. 1 shows a known arrangement.
