[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVII] The torque reaction of an engine operating with injection of liquid fuel, and also the charging pressure of the blower, are used to effect adjustments of the liquid fuel supply. The Figure shows means for measuring the torque reaction comprising lever arms acting on two pistons 1, 2, the movement of which by the engine torque is resisted by oil or other pressure in chambers 5, 6, which are connected by a pipe 7 to a servo-piston 3 connected to the fuel-pump control 12. The charging pressure acts on a bellows 29 connected to a valve 20 controlling the supply of pressure fluid from a pump and reservoir 15 to the piston 3, the piston rod 10 of which is connected by a lever 30 to the casing of the bellows 29. The reservoir 15 is also connected by pipes 16 to the chambers 5, 6, under the control of valves 17, 18 connected to the pistons 1, 2. Opposite sides of the valves 17, 18 are connected by bores 21, 22, and outlets 25, 26 are provided as shown. A toggle device 35 may be arranged between the piston 3 and the pump control 12, and a restriction 36 provided in the pipe 31 connecting the piston 3 to the control valve 20.
