Abstract
592,769. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. HOBSON (AIRCRAFT & MOTOR) COMPONENTS, Ltd., H. M., and GREENLAND, L. S. May 28, 1945, No. 13374. [Class 135] A hydraulic servomotor, suitable for controlling the fuel supply valve 12 of a combustion turbine engine, comprises a servo-member such as the piston 15 in a housing or cylinder 19 having a liquid pressure inlet conduit 20 and a return conduit 21 to the fuel pump 11, a restricted flow connection between the two ends of the housing, e.g. the aperture 22, a spring 23 for balancing the servo-member against the pressure difference acting thereon, a pressure or temperature responsive-device 16 for operating a valve 25 for controlling the flow through one of the conduits, and a follow-up lever 26 connecting the servo-member and the device 16. As shown, a stack of capsules 16 responsive to the air intake pressure in the pipe 18 operates the valve 25 in the return conduit. In modifications, the piston may be replaced by a vane and the capsules by a Bourdon tube connected to a thermometer bulb in the air intake. Specification 376,341 is referred to.
