Abstract

529,926. Bayonet-joint fastenings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and GILBERT, R. E. June 12, 1939, No. 17147. [Class 44] [Also in Groups XXXVI and XXXIX] A bayonet fastening is locked by a sleeve that slides on the plug member and engages the socket member to prevent relative rotation. The plug 1 carries a sleeve 5 guided by a pin and slot 7, 8 and pressed upwards by a spring 10. The sleeve carries projections 9 so that when the bayonet pins 4 are inserted in the slots 17, the projections 9 engage the rim of the socket 14, 16 and compress the spring 10 until, when the pin 4 is turned into the part 17a of the slot 17, the projections 9 snap into notches 20. The socket 14, 16 is mounted in a vibration-absorbing bush 13 of rubber, felt &c. in a ring 15 attached to a microphone &c. 12 which is to be mounted on the plug member 1.
