Abstract
527,987. Laminated springs. DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. April 25, 1939, No. 12392. Convention date, March 9. I[Class 108 (iii)] A leaf spring, particularly applicable to independent wheel suspensions of vehicles, has the end portion of the main leaf g, which forms the eye h, bent back upon the leaf and positively connected directly or through an intermediate member with another leaf l of the spring, so that upon breakage of the main leaf, the eye is positively held. In the form shown the connection is made by a V-shaped member r fixed by screws or rivets s to the leaf l and having its lower link connected by a bolt k which passes through an eye m at the end of the bent back portion of the leaf g. The eye m is elongated so as to give a limited amount of play. An intermediate leaf o may be formed with a bent end p abutting against the eye h.
