Abstract

474,921. Bed - settees. GREAVES, F. A., and THOMAS, A. J., (trading as GREAVES & THOMAS). May 13, 1936, No. 13584. [Class 52 (ii)] The upholstered back 10 of a bed-settee is connected to a fixed part 13 of the frame by a link mechanism arranged to effect inversion of the back while it is being raised, which consists of two pairs of links 23, 24 and 16, 17, pivoted respectively to the back 10 and to the frame 13, the link 23 of the one pair crossing the link 16 of the other pair, these two links being pivoted together at the point 27 intermediate their ends, and each being pivoted at its free end to the remaining link of the other pair. The link 16 is preferably in the form of a bellcrank, as shown, and a spring 28 is provided between the bracket 15 on the frame 13 and the link 17.
