523,378. Unit air heaters. COLDAIR, Ltd., and SAUNDERS, N. F. T. Jan. 4, 1939, No. 281. [Class 137] An air heater, normally operating as a convection heater, is provided with a fan for increasing the output of heated air. Air entering through a lower screen 17 is heated by coiled resistance heating wires 7, and rises to escape through a lowered opening 16. The resistors 7 are divided into two groups, one connected directly to the electricity supply, while the other is controlled by a switch 13. When the switch is off, one group only. is in circuit, and the air is heated by'convection only, but with the switch on, both resistors are used, and a fan 12 is energized to induce a forced air circulation through the heater, and prevent overheating of the resistors.
