[Class 137] [Also in Group XI] Electric resistance elements 15 are supported within or directly below an open ended cylinder 10 made of insulating non- vitreous material of low heat conductivity and surrounded by an open ended casing 11 through which air circulates by convection or is forced by a fan. An air filter at the bottom of the casing consists of metal wool or porous material 25, supported by gauze 24. The heater may be suspended from brackets 13 secured to the sides of an opening in the floor of a room, and it may be provided with a distributer head. In a portable air-heating apparatus, the heater is supported within a casing having air inlets and outlets at its top and bottom.
