Abstract

520,651. Unit air heaters. BAILEY, W. M. Oct. 27, 1938, No. 31134. [Class 137] A fan 10 draws air through openings 3 in a casing 2 and past heating pipes 5 leading from headers or boxes 1 of square-section, the tubes 5 having fins 6, and discharges the heated air downwardly. The boxes have holes 7 for the flow and return pipes or for plugs formed with eye-bolts 8 by which the device may be suspended. Air inlets 12 controlled by shutters 13 admit cold air to mix with the air heated by the fins 6, thus enabling the temperature of the outgoing air to be regulated. In a modification, for direct fitting to a ceiling, the casing is provided with an upper extension which is flanged for securing to the ceiling, and has air inlets, Specification 520,674 is referred to.
