Abstract

414,475. Electric radiators. BURNSIDE, G. B., Fairhill, Dullatur, Dumbartonshire. April 28, 1933, No. 12379. [Class 39 (iii).] In electric hot-air stoves consisting of a duct 2 containing a heating element C and surrounded by an auxiliary duct 3, the air from these ducts flowing to delivery as separate streams, the connections D between the ducts are remote from the outlet point to avoid heating of the outer duct in this region. The connections may be made of material of low heat conductivity. The ducts may be enclosed in an outer casing K as shown in Fig. 3 so that air to be heated enters an annular space round the hot air outlets. The apparatus may be fitted behind the wood panelling of a room or in a separate wooden box as shown in Figs. 11 and 12. The duct 2 may be provided with a grid 6 at its outlet. A construction employing a number of concentric ducts is shown in Fig. 13. Air is admitted to the ducts under the regulation of a valve 10 either from an opening 8 leading to the room or an opening 9 extending through the walls of the room. A fan may be used to aid natural draught in any of the forms of heater.
