[Class 131] In a shearing or clipping head in which a vacuum operated rocker actuates the cutter the rocker is actuated by a vane pivoted at one end within a chamber and adapted to oscillate in. relation thereto. the vane being mounted in the , chamber in an airtight manner. The vane D works in a sector shaped chamber B and is integral with an arm E which actuates a rocker F reciprocating the cutter. At the rear end of the clipper is a valve chamber H in communication with the atmosphere throughtwo apertures h. The forward face K of the valve chamber contains three ports N, M ; ports N communicate with opposite sides of the vane chamber and port M with the vacuum scource through ports m<1>. Over the three apertures N. M oscillates a hollow rocker which always places the central port into communication with one or the other of the ports N alternately thereby causing atmospheric pressure and a vacuum to operate on opposite sides of the vane. The rocker is actuated by the rocker F through an arm Q passing through rocker F and impinging against F at f <2>at the limits of its movement. A spring controlled roller q in the arm Q oscillating in a slot a<4> engages the valve rocker P.
