Abstract

512,389. Rotary engines. MOUTON, G. Jan. 4, 1939, No. 289. Convention date, Jan. 8, 1938. [Class 110 (ii)] The engine or pump has a rotor 1 carrying curved vanes 6 in slots, one end of each vane projecting to make contact with the bore of the working chamber. Abutments 5<1> cause a vane to alter position from 6<1> to 6. As applied to a fluid transmission device liquid under pressure passes up a pipe 16 and divides to bear against blades 6<1>, 6, and so rotate the rotor 1. Liquid is exhausted from the spaces - 4<1>, 4<11>, by way of outlets 15, and a return pipe 17 to an external pump which supplies the pipe 16. Valves in pipes 16, 17, regulate the flow of the liquid. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 a modification to the invention describes a rocking bar within the rotor pivoted at its centre, with two radial vanes pivoted to the ends of the bar and projecting beyond the rotor periphery. This replaces the curved vane 6. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
