507,537. Raising liquids by gas pressure. KENNETT, G. Nov. 16, 1938, No. 33287. [Class 102 (ii)] Apparatus for raising liquids, particularly acids, comprises a chamber 1 of stoneware &c. provided with a liquid inlet comprising a bent tube 4 having mounted on it a flap valve 5, and a valve actuated by a float 18 for controlling admission and exhaust of pressure gas. This valve comprises a tapered portion 9 fitting a seat in which is a port connected to the pressure supply. A disc 15 which engages the cover 11 and controls exhaust from chamber 1 passing through ports 20, a ribbed guide 16 and an extension 8 which is engaged by the float 18.
