[Class 135] Apparatus for feeding a liquid at a desired rate of flow comprises a supply tank 11 under atmospheric pressure and in which the level of liquid is kept constant by means such as a float-valve 14, an adjoining chamber 12 into which the liquid can flow and assume the same level, a discharge pipe 23 leading from the chamber to a liquid seal 13 and having its inlet 24 not lower than the normal liquid level, and means independent of the discharge pipe to connect the space in the chamber above the liquid to a suction source so . that the liquid in the chamber will be raised and will flow into the pipe 23. Suction is applied to the chamber at 21. A pair of screens 17 is provided in the tank and the passage interconnecting the tank and the chamber is controlled by a needle-valve 19 or other restriction. The liquid is discharged from the seal 13 through an overflow pipe 26. Specification 504,415 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
