Abstract
213,703. Braem, K. Jan. 15, 1923. Vacuum apparatus. - In vacuum apparatus for raising to a measuring-chamber and drawing off inflammable and other liquids, the vacuum is produced by a. nozzle-jet apparatus 2, and the liquid is under the control of a multiple-way cock 7. Gas, air, water, or steam is passed down a pipe 1 controlled by valve 13. and bv means of a connection 5, the height of which prevents liquid from passing over to the apparatus 2, creates a vacuum in chamber 6 which is fed from the supply tank 10 on turning the cock 7 into the position shown in Fig. 2<a>. On turning the cock into the position shown in Fig. 2b, and closing valve 13, the fluid is run off at 9. In a modification, two chambers controlled by one jet apparatus and working alternately, are used.
