Disconnecting actuating-mechanism. - Apparatus for starting and stopping a carbonating pump according to the level of carbonated liquid in the delivery tank B comprises a balanced piston F controlled by a float lever D and adapted to open and close a narrow port M connecting a pipe H from the top of the tank B to a pipe P. When the port M is open gas pressure from the top of the tank passes through the pipes H, P and moves a piston R controlling a belt shifter &c. J on the pump drive. When the port M is closed, the gas pressure escapes to exhaust U from the pipe P through an annular passage on the piston F, and the piston R is returned by a spring S.
