Abstract
173,835. Scott, W. Sept. 30, 1920. Dispensing liquids. -The proper condition and head is produced in ordinary draught beer by adding thereto a small quantity of specially prepared ale of a similar class which has been specially treated and stored to ensure a high pressure and a large quantity of carbon dioxide gas in solution. The receptacle 1 containing the high-pressure ale is placed near the beer engine and is connected by means of a pipe 7 to an outlet tap 5 provided preferably near the outlet 6 from the beer engine, the tap being opened by means of a lever 12, which may be operated by an upward movement of the glass when necessary. In a modification, the pipe 7 is connected direct to the beer pump, a suitable non-return valve being fitted in the beer-supply pipe to prevent high-pressure ale from passing to the barrel containing the ordinary beer.
