Direct air pressure apparatus, non-automatic ; air compressing devices, application of.-Apparatus for drawing-off beer comprises an air cylinder C in which air is compressed by water in a tank A. The cylinder is connected by a valved pipe T<8> to a tank D containing a ball valve so that, if the water rises through the cylinder C into the tank D, the ball valve closes and prevents the water from reaching the barrels. When tank D is out of use, the cylinder may be connected to the air main E by a by-pass valve T<5>. The tank D and cylinder C may be emptied by opening taps T<1>, T<4>. Taps T<3>, T<2> are used to test when the water has filled the cylinder and entered the pipes leading to the barrels.
