Abstract
554,666. Valves. NOONE, E. Jan. 12, 1942, No. 467. [Class 135] [Also in Group XIII] Apparatus for supplying boiling water and intended particularly for use in catering establishments comprises a boiling chamber 18 heated by a gas burner 11 and surrounding concentric annular water chambers 41 through which the feedwater supplied from a float chamber 39, flows before entering the boiling chamber. The water passes from the annular chambers into a vertical pipe 50 connected to the bottom of the boiling chamber and having a curved upper end venting into an expansion vessel 21 at the top of the chamber. The gas supply is controlled by a relay valve 13 of the diaphragm type connected by a pipe IS to the casing of a pilot valve 34 which, when opened by the operation of the water discharge cock 25, releases the gas pressure on the relay valve to allow the gas to flow to the burner. The top of the boiler casing is closed by a sliding grille 54.
