Abstract
252,127. Soc. Anon. d'OugrÚe Marihaye. May 15, 1925, [Convention date]. Closure members. liquid seal.-A liquid seal valve for gas conduits comprises a bell 10 divided into two parts by an internal partition 11 extending from side to side and is provided with inlet and outlet conduits 1, 2, leading to the two chambers so formed. This bell dips into a liquid reservoir 13 so that the partition is normally above the surface of the liquid, the level of which is varied to control the flow of gas by means of cocks 14, 15 on inlet and outlet pipes 4, 5. The lower edge of the partition 11 may be parallel or inclined to the surface of the liquid or it may have a broken outline. The reservoir may form part of the bell. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3 (a) comprises also a modification in which a dip is formed in the gas conduit to which water may be admitted to control the flow. And in a further form the inlet and outlet conduits open into a chamber to which a variable quantity of water is admitted. This subject-matter does not appear in the complete Specification as accepted.
