Fluids, regulating volume of flow of; temperature, regulating.- A device for regulating the flow of a fluid by varying the head over a discharge orifice, has a float-actuated valve for maintaining a constant level and a discharge orifice formed in a movable tube or bucket. In the form shown, the float 2 is directly connected to the valve 4 and is provided with a push actuating means 5. The discharge tube 8 which is connected by a rod 20 to a, manual or automatic actuating means has an outlet port 10 and slides easily through a stuffing-box 9 into an outlet chamber 11 provided with a discharge pipe 12. In a modification, the straight tube 8 is replaced by a siphon. The siphon may be fixed, the outlet end dipping into a movable bucket. The discharge orifice may be in the end of the siphon or in the bucket. The device may be fitted with a heating jacket. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which the discharge aperture is stationary and the level of liquid varied by adjustably loading the float. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
