Measuring-apparatus.-Liquid-meters comprising a tube a provided with a constant level supply chamber b, a calibrated orifice, an outlet f, and an indicating tube d with or without a constriction at its lower end, are provided with means for varying the capacity of the orifice. The means may consist of a cock with a number of orifices, or of two orifices e<1>, e<2>, a passage j leading from the orifice e' being adapted to be closed by a rod k located in a vertical pipe i. When the rod is lowered to shut off the orifice e<1>, a projection l enters a slot in the pipe i, and a scale h<2> carried by the rod is disposed close to the tube d. When both orifices are to be used, the rod is raised and rotated to bring a scale h<1> into position, the projection l then resting on the upper end of the tube i.
