Abstract
402,379. Delivering measured quantities of liquids. RYSER, J., Visp, Wallis, and REBER, R., Dietikon, Zurich, both in Switzerland. Feb. 22, 1932, No. 5255. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 22, 1932]. [Class 106 (v).] The quantity measured is adjustable by varying the height of a float air valve 22 on an air escape pipe 21 passing through the cover 2 of the measuring chamber 1 and attached by an arm 24 to a rack 25 engaged by a pinion 27 mounted in bearings 26 on the cover. The base 4 of the glass measuring chamber is detachably secured by a catch 6 and comprises passages 18 adapted to connect the measuring chamber to discharge ports 17 in a valve tube 8 rotatably mounted in the base and cover and provided with a handle 11. A partition is arranged in the valve tube 8 above the ports 17 and liquid supplied at 15 passes through ports 19 in the tube to the measuring chamber until a float 23 closes the air escape valve 22. On turning the handle 11 from the position shown a cam 12 opens an air admission valve in the cover, the ports 17 are brought into register with the outlet passages 18 and the supply inlet 15 is closed. The rack 25 moves against a scale on the measuring vessel. In a modification the float valve 22 may be stationary and the discharge port adjustable vertically.
