[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVIII] A valve 15 carried by a hollow cylindrical member 8 open at the upper end and supported on guides 10 by springs 11 within a casing 1 is provided with an inlet 2 and an outlet 4 leading to a liquid meter. When liquid is flowing, the member 8 is filled, but is supported to maintain the valve 15 open. Should air enter the casing such that the liquid level falls, then the member 8 falls to close the valve on the seating 16 to prevent air entering the meter. A valve 6 is provided to release air from the casing 1.
