Fixed-chamber apparatus with open chambers; varying quantity measured.-Liquid flows from a barrel, tank, &c., through a flexible tube c to a measuring-vessel a until it reaches a predetermined height therein. The supply is then shut off, and the measured quantity drawn off by a valve e. The height to which the liquid rises in the vessel a is determined either automatically, by means of an adjustable float therein, or manually from observation of a gauge-glass b connected to the vessel. The vessel, which may be graduated, may be arranged inside or outside the tank, and may be adjusted relatively thereto. The measuring-vessel or the gauge is attached to the barrel &c. by brackets f.
