Abstract
464,194. Heating liquids. JUNKERS & CO., GES. Sept. 14, 1936, No. 25008. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1935. [Class 64 (i)] In a liquid-heater comprising a tank 10 in which liquid is discharged through a siphon pipe 31 extending above the liquid surface, dripping from the outlet on turning off the heating means is prevented by providing on the tank a double bottom 41, the interior space of which communicates with the space above the liquid level by a pipe 42 situ ated preferably in th tank, so that on heat ing air in the double bottom is rarefied Water entering at 12 passes a pressure-re ducing valve 14 actuated by a diaphragn 21 controlling a gas valve 20 and enters the tank by a pipe 15 and a float - actuated valve 26, and a smal supply enters by a pipe 16 with a choke 25 Water is discharged by steam pressure to the outlet 31, which is apertured at 45 within the tank to prevent emptying the tank by siphoning. The tank has fins 11 and an internal corrugated jacket 27 with an aperture 29 at the bottom. To obtain warm water, a valve 37 byepassing the valve 14 is opened, whereby the rush of water keeps the float 33 depressed. Specification 462,437 is referred to.
