507,514. Weed-killing compositions. CHIPMAN CHEMICAL CO., Ltd. Feb. 12, 1938, No. 4454. Convention date, March 16, 1937. [Class 81 (i)] A weed-killing composition consists of a mixture of a, chlorate of the alkaline or alkaline earth group, an alkali or alkaline earth salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having not more than four carbon atoms in the molecule, and calcium and/or magnesium chloride. The organic acid salt preferably has a metal ion in common with the chlorate and may be a salt of acetic, formic or butyric acid. A preferred composition consists of sodium chlorate, sodium acetate and calcium chloride ; it may be used as a dry powder or in solution. Specification 477,586 is referred to.
