Abstract

503,629. Heating water. BUTZKEBERNHARD JOSEPH AKT.-GES., F. Oct. 29, 1937, No. 29679. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1936. [Class 64 (i)] A now water-heater with a safety device disconnecting the heating means if the water supply is insufficient, and in which the outflow of water is delayed when water is first admitted, comprises a vessel 4 with a cold water inlet 1, and the water is so heated that as it rises it reaches gradually a predetermined temperature which is not reached until the vessel is full, a hot water outlet and means for emptying the vessel when the inlet is closed, so arranged that water is automatically discharged at once when heated to this temperature, and is then continuously discharged at this temperature until the inlet is closed. The vessel 4 may be annular with heating fins 5 and a cap 7 and may have an overflow discharge pipe 10 and an emptying tap 6, or a vertically adjustable overflow pipe 20 whereby the vessel may be emptied. An adjustable valve may be placed in a connection 19<1>. Water may be sprayed at 14 into a vessel 4 which has heating fins 5 and a siphon discharge 16<1>. A vessel which tips and opens an outlet when filled to a certain level or a stationary vessel with a float valve may be used.
