Abstract
637,971. Hot-water supply systems. RANGE BOILERS, Ltd., and SIMPSON, E. June 14, 1948, No. 15931. [Class 64(i)] In a hot water or other liquid-heating system in which water or other liquid heated and circulated in a primary circuit transmits heat through a heat exchanger to water in a secondary circuit, the primary circuit is replenished at its highest point through a tube c connected to the lower part of a container b in the cold storage tank a, the container having an upper overflow tube d and an inner and an outer upright tube or channel member e, f both open at the bottom and closed at the top and intercommunicating at g at or near the top. When the primary circuit is being replenished water flows into the container b through the tubes f. e until the bottom of the tube e is submerged. The container b acts as an expansion chamber for the primary circuit.
