Abstract

652,496. Hot-water boilers. FORD, T. Sept. 15, 1948, No. 24169. [Class 64(i)] In a hot-water boiler in which a water-heating chamber 6, through which circulates cold water supplied automatically, has an opening at the top leading into an expansion tube 11 or other outlet and is located in a boiler heating chamber or flue 4 through which hot gases rise, a watertight air-filled compartment 15 forming a hollow core within the hot water chamber 6 is supported at its top by a central union 17 provided with an air vent leading from the compartment 15 into the heating chamber or flue 4. In the form shown the union 17 is a tubular T-piece. The head 10 of the water chamber 6 is conical and may be detachable with the union and compartment 15. The water chamber 6 is connected by a pipe 7 to a hollow jacket 3.
