Abstract

503,417. Electric indicators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and TERRY, R. ST. G. Oct. 5, 1937, No. 26961. [Class 40 (i)] A two-position indicator, more particularly for use in mimic circuit diagrams for the remote indication of the positions of electrical apparatus at substations, comprises an indicator disc 13 carrying a mica window bearing a symbol and being rotatable into one or other of two positions by a permanent-magnet armature 22 operated by pairs of electromagnets6 disposed at right-angles. The armature is mounted on a spindle 10 which carries an indicator carriage 11 terminating in a ring which frictionally supports a cylindrical extension 12 of the indicator disc. The electromagnets 6 are provided with a yoke 9 and U-shaped polepieces 5 supported on a frame 2 which also carries a holder 20 for an axially arranged lamp 19 which illuminates the window 14.
