Abstract

430,202. Oscillating motors. HOOGLAND, E., 19, Allerheiligenstrasse, Cologne, Germany. May 7, 1934, No. 13756. [Class 35] [See also Group XXXVII] An electric oscillating motor for driving advertising or like devices by means of a pawl has an interrupter enclosed in a holder for use with continuous-current supplies, the holder being rotated relatively to the magnet to render the interrupter inoperative for alternating-current circuits. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the pawl 18 comprises a leaf spring adjustably mounted on the armature 12 and engaging the toothed or plain flange 2 of the turntable and the electromagnet 13 is adjustably mounted on its support 10. The armature is carried by the spring 25. The interrupter consists of a movable contact 28 carried by a spring 27 deflected by the magnet and enclosed with the fixed contact 29 in a rotatable glass tube 32 mounted on the magnet 13. The turntable may be replaced by a drum.
