Abstract

501,167. Resilient mountings. METAL ASTIK, Ltd., and GOLDSCHMIDT, M. Dec. 17, 1937, No. 35004, [Class 108 (iii)] An elastic mounting comprises a pair of bolts 4, 5 adapted to be secured to an instrument or machine unit and to a support respectively and interconnected with one another solely by a block of rubber 1 secured thereto by surface bonding, e.g. cementing or vulcanization, a metal part or parts being disposed within or upon the outer surface of the block to restrict its natural resilience. As shown, the rubber is bonded to end members 2, 3 on the bolts. The metal part or parts may comprise an internal projection or projections 9, Fig. 7, an external sheath or sheaths 15, Fig. 5, or a sheath 16. Fig. 6. adapted to contact with an increasing area of the rubber block after a predetermined minimum deflection of the bolt 5 beyond the bolt 4. The sheaths arc bonded to the rubber.
