Abstract

901,454. Machinery mountings. AVIATION, MINISTER OF. Dec. 23, 1958 [Oct. 3, 1957], No. 30981/57. Class 80 (4). [Also in Group XXXII] A resilient machinery mounting comprises spaced parallel plates 1, 2, a resilient member 4, non-resilient members 3 preferably of metal, and having rounded ends, and a member 7 which limits lateral displacement of the plate 1 with respect to the plate 2. The rounded ends of the member 3 bear against plugs 6 of high tensile steel. The rubber layer 4 returns the plate 1 to its original position when the deflecting force is removed. The members 3 may be in the form of the central part of a sphere bounded by two planes parallel to and substantially equally spaced from the diameter of the sphere. If lateral movement is limited to one plane only, horizontal cylinders may be used. The rod 7 is welded to the plate 1 and engages a circular recess 9 in the lower plate 2. The rubber block 4 may be replaced by separate blocks or sleeves surrounding each of the members 3.
