Abstract
732,256. Resilient mountings. METALASTIK, Ltd. Oct. 14, 1953 [Oct. 14, 1952], No. 25750/52. Class 108 (3). In a resilient mounting comprising a rubber bush 13 interposed between inner and outer metal elements 12, 11, the element 11 comprises a sleeve with outward flanges at its ends, wholly embedded in the bush 13, and the element 12 comprises a sleeve of greater length than the sleeve part of the element 11. The bush 13 may be bonded to both elements 11, 12. The part 19, of the bush 11 determines the rebound stiffness of the mounting. The load-deflection characteristic is S-shaped (Figs. 2-4, not shown), with an intermediate linear portion. The part 19 may be so formed that when a deflection-limiting plate 21 is secured in position, it pre-stresses the rubber bush (Fig. 4, not shown).
