Abstract

A microphone bridge for a string instrument comprises two parts 5, 6 spaced apart by a resilient distance-piece 7, and a prismaticshaped piezo - electric crystal 8 obliquely mounted between the parts 5, 6 with one edge bearing against one part and its diagonally facing edge against the other part. String vibrations distort the crystal, producing alternating currents which may be amplified and applied to a loud-speaker.
