499,452. Discharge apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. July 9, 1938, No. 20399. Convention date, July 12, 1937. [Class 39 (i)] A discharge tube 1 has at least one leading-in wire sealed into an outwardly projecting cylindrical or conical portion 6 of the envelope and connected, e.g. by welding, to a cylindrical or conical metal cap 9 which is clamped on the portion of the envelope. The device may comprise a doublewalled high pressure lamp and the nickel caps may be in contact, over a distance greater than half their length, with the projections.
