496,803. Discharge tubes. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. May 28, 1938, No. 16007. Convention date, May 31, 1937. [Class 39 (i)] The leads 1 to the electrodes of a discharge tube are not more than 1 mm. thick where they are sealed to a pressed glass disc 3 forming the closure of the tube ; thicker extensions 2 of the leads form connecting pegs and pass through holes 6 in a pressed-glass cap 5 sealed to the disc. A centring extension 10 is formed on the cap. The disc 3 may be flat or dished. A connection 13 between the metallization 12 on the envelope and a peg 2 passes through a hole in the cap.
