Abstract

496,037. Discharge lamps. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. July 6, 1938, No. 20020. Convention date, July 9, 1937. [Class 39 (i)] A high-pressure metalvapour discharge tube is arranged inside a closed envelope also containing a resistance in circuit with an auxiliary elec trode and the resistance is connected to the supply conductor of a main electrode outside the envelope. In the form shown, the resist ance 13 connected to the auxiliary electrode 4 is supported in the nitro gen filled envelope 5 by wire 14 secured in the pinch 11, the wire 14 being connected outside the bulb to the lead 15 of the main electrode 2. The tube has a rare gas filling in addition to mercury.
