Abstract
410,621. Discharge lamps. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. June 8, 1933, No. 16469. Convention date, June 30, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] In order that the anodes of a gas- or vapour-filled arc discharge lamp having a number of discharge paths may be connected directly in parallel without resistances in the individual anode leads, a single cathode only is provided for the several discharge paths. In the construction shown, anodes 3, 4, disposed symmetrically about a coated cathode 2 are mounted in a glass envelope 1 containing sodium vapour and neon at a pressure of 1 mm. The parallel connection between the anodes may be effected by connecting together, either internally or exteriorly of the lamp, the anode leads 8, 9 ; or the anodes may be mounted on one supporting wire. A screen 10 may extend across the lower part of the envelope 1 to prevent condensation of the sodium vapour.
