Abstract
499,376. Projection-printing apparatus- VINTEN, Ltd., W., and VINTEN, C. July 20, 1937, No. 20043. [Class 98 (i)] Duplicate prints of picture images, sound records, or both, on kinematographic films, are printed on a positive film by projection through a narrow slot, the image of which is passed by reflection through two separate lenses, or a double lens, to form through another narrow slot a pair of separate side by side images on the positive film : the paths of the two films are at right-angles at their printing positions, although their general direction of run is preferably the same. Reduction or enlargement may be effected. In Fig. 1, the negative film 1 passes behind a slot in a gate 2, and the positive film 5 behind a slot in a gate 6. The film 1 is illuminated from behind and the image is projected by side by side reflectors 3 through separate lenses 4. In Fig. 3, a single reflector 3 is used in conjunction with a double lens 7 comprising lens segments each greater than a right-angle and cemented together along their edges.
