Abstract
350,709. Stereoscopic kinematography. PEPPERCORN, H. H., Farthing Barn, Downe, Kent, BORIS, B., 120, Bridge Street, Mile End, London, and TUCKER, D. S. O., Myrtle Farm, Norwood Hill, Horley, Surrey. March 18, 1931, No. 16890/30. [Class 97 (i).] Right and left images are projected alternately by an apparatus comprising duplicate light sources, and provided with duplicate condensers and objectives fixed with their axes parallel at about the normal interocular distance apart ; the images are printed in two ranks, on one wide film, or on two films, from negatives alternately exposed, and may be projected at an increased speed, e.g. sixtyfour per second. Fig. 2 shows a camera having two lenses 5, two shutters 10, 10a, alternately masking the image space in one rank while that in the other rank is being exposed, thus producing negatives having images and spaces in alternation, and a shutter 11 masking both lenses during film shift. Fig. 7 shows a projector having light sources 13, reflectors 14, condensers 15, projection lenses 17, and shutters 10b, 11a, corresponding to the shutters in the camera. The images may be arranged in ranks spaced apart on a wide film, and feed perforations may be provided on each side of each rank. Alternatively, the images may be carried on separate films of standard width which are connected by an intermediate strip of paper &c., or are otherwise caused to run synchronously.
