Abstract
449,695. Colour kinematography. C.M.C. CORPORATION, 52, Vanderbilt Avenue, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Moreno, G. G.; 1249, Gower Street, Los Angeles, U.S.A.) Jan.. 22, 1935, No. 2137. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1934. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii)] Films for the additive process are produced by recording consecutive images on successive frames of a bipack having one emulsion preferentially green-sensitive and the other preferentially redsensitive, developing the two films separately, and printing every other corressponding pair of images from the two films in succession on a single positive film. The front emulsion may be orthochromatic and the rear panchromatic with an anti-halation backing. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the processed negatives 10<1>, 12<1> bear sets of images 1 .... 6 and so on, and 1<1> .... 6<1> and so on. The mask film 14 has alternate opaque areas 15, 17 and transparent areas 16, 18. The negative 10<1> is placed on an unexposed positive film and the mask film 14 is placed between the negative 10<1> and the source of light, so that only the images 2, 4, 6 and so on are printed. The negative 10<1> is then replaced by the negative 12<1> and the films shifted so that the images 2<1>, 4<1>, 61 and so on are printed in the blank spaces of the positive film. In projection, colour filters are used, and a pair of corresponding images 2, 2<1> projected simultaneously on the screen, the film being moved intermittently at a distance of two frames at a time. The negative 10<1> may be used for printing a black and white positive.
