Abstract
489,888. Stereoscopic kinematography &c. TOBIS TONBILD-SYNDIKAT AKT.- GES. June 21, 1937, No. 17298. Convention date, June 20, 1936. [Class 97 (i)] Images are projected from a composite picture, comprising elements of each of the members of a stereoscopic pair, with the interposition of a polarizing screen causing the light passing through elements of one picture to be polarized in one direction and that through the other elements in a direction at right-angles. The composite picture may be printed by projection, using a light 1, condenser 2, screen 3 with opaque and transparent elements, and lens 4, to produce an image of the screen on a negative 5, and a lens 6 to produce an image of both screen and negative on positive material 7. The negatives are successively projected on to the same positive material, the screen 3 being changed or adjusted relatively to the light beam between the projections. The screen 3 may be subdivided into strips, squares, triangles, &c. ; the polarizing screen used in projection is similarly subdivided, and is advantageously situated in the plane of an intermediate image of the composite picture. The screen image is observed through polarizing spectacles.
